hi all just wondering if there has been an xh to el dash conversion? or if it can be done? if there is pics please. i was thinking about doin this to my xh. any idea on a cost either? cheers sean

PM Ashcook. He has fitted an EF/L dash into his XF ute, it'll be pretty much the same job.

From memory it is pretty straight forward apart from the a/c vents.

Hi mate, nah i didnt end up doin it, i lost my license so i locked my car away so i dont get to her and drive, one of my mates is doin it at the moment, but he is putting complete el climate control in to his xg, so far he has had no troubles. i can try get pics if u like? cheers sean

ow meny pics do u want and what do u want them of so fare i have put a ef tickford motor and auto box in with braded hose lines and ef radiator and have started the interior it will have the full xr6 tretment including the full wiering loom

if this is trouble free enough ill try give it a crack in my ute the the only differences would be A/C vents and the heater a/c controls interested to kmow if rest of wiring is just plug in and go

Theres a few issues - but the hardest one seems to be the Blend door servo - on a ute there just isnt room under the dash for it where it is.
Im doing it to my XF - but I had a GHIA so I have an existing blend motor in a different place. Im going to see how that works out Nigel |

hi i am doing it now and i put the hole ef xr motor and gear box in it bolts strat in that way u dont nead to wory about wiering as u will yose the hole loom out of el ef and the vents for the demister are the only trobel i have come across so fare and all i did was cut them off the old dash and screwd them back on i will try to get sum pics up on my thred on the week end to show u what i mean

Please do!. Thats exactly what Im hoping to do. Did you have to remould the Vent across the back of the cluster to fit the demisters?

hi simply took to it with a grinder on the old dash and cut the window vents off ( BE CEFUL NOT TO CUT INTO THE VENT )u will see whear u have to cut when u pull it out and then pull it dowen then cleand it up to look like it was a factory fit and put the dimister vents back in only the est of the el ef vents line up with the heater box i am hopeing it looks so close its not funny that is next on my to do list
