some lpg setups have their own computer to run them. this generally works off the oxy sensor. mine just has a screw to adjust the main mixture. the conclusion i came to was the computer must, when in closed loop alter the timing as well. hence the better economy.

my ea wagon gave me an easy 500 odd on the highway. sitting on 110-120. i replaced the oxygen sensor and it got better. still not sure how, as there was no closed loop control on the lpg setup.

doe the oxygen sensor have something to do with the lpg setup?? I thought only worked with petrol??

Yeah, if you have a stepper motor on your vapour line it is controlled by an LPG ECU which uses the HEGO, TPS and RPM as its main inputs.

My EB used to get 500-680 on the highway between Gold Coast and Sydney, driving on cruise, but fully loaded.

i miss that. My Escape gets 250km for 56l now, and about 350 on highway :(

It's not a Ford, but our VZ Commodore SV6 gets 550km in the suburbs on gas all the time without fail. The tank is 90L liquid capacity or 75L usable LPG capacity.

Regards,
Dave

It is a MY2005 VZ SV6 with the high output Alloytec 190 engine. It has the 5-speed "Active Select" automatic transmission. The LPG system is a Sequential Vapour Injection system (OMVL Dream XXI-N). The last tank of gas yielded us 561km on 72L.

Regards,
Dave

Oh damn!!!

Just thought i'd mention gas on a hot day....today it was 30 odd down here, and I noticed a big drop even on highway!.....well I reckon it uses heaps more even if you ARE light with the throttle....anyone back this up with reason??
