Hi there all, am only new to this site so I apologise if I am posting in the wrong section.

I have a 97 EL Sedan on factory LPG/Petrol and have only owned this car for about 9 months. I have been told conflicting things in regard to the following:

* Car should be started always on Petrol and driven for a short while before changing to LPG, car should also be turned off on petrol too. Previous owner told me he just left it on gas when he wanted to and swapped to petrol once a week while maybe on the highway and gave it a good run on petrol to keep everything lubricated.

Just wondering what others do, also when the car is on gas I only get about 360 - 380 klms out of my 80l gas bottle? Is this average or should I get more out of it, I know gas burns quicker than petrol but I reckon on petrol I'd get close to 500-600.

Thanks in advance for any replies...am keen to find out!

if u want to keep the fuel system in good order you should regularly run it on petrol...

starting on petrol minimises backfires, switching off on petrol makes sure there is no gas in the intake for when u start it next

350 is about what i get in my wagon (not sure if the wagon has a smaller tank tho)

Ok thanks for that, so would the reason that when I start my car after already driven it that day, like say an hour later, and I've left it on gas...it chugs and splutter for a minute or 2 till I get going? I will start doing as I was told and what you have said then, I have just never been sure and the car never came with the LPG manual either so have had no idea.

Thanks again

being a factory job it should auto start on petrol and switch to LPG
