I was told by Sprint gas today that the system was never approved for the EF falcon, which might indicate why its never worked since the day it was installed.
I got the feeling that it is approved for use in the EL. I wonder what the reasoning is, but that might not be true.

that system would have to cost about as much as the car wouldn't it?
another forum member had one of these in an ef or el - thing is his old man is an installer so he didn't get ripped for the instal |

the dream system should work fine.
providing it has been mapped properly ... IE on a dyno. Any system that uses feedback should sort itself out. The factors that would affect it will be injector placement? If the vapour gas injectors are in the wrong place you will have poor performance. The other thing will be the size of regulator. An R90e is too small and you should have a higher flow rated one. I notice my BRC reglator freezes up when towing a heavy load. It cant flow enough gas. Vacuum leaks will stuff any system also. I am very interested in getting one of these systems for my EF's. I am surprised by more than one person claiming their DREAMGAS system is not working to their satisfaction. The only difference in EF/EL is coils. AU on is same as EF.

The reason it was not approved for EF is that they are old and they never bothered to develop a conversion kit to suit them.
Since the AU1 is for all intents the same engine (SOHC I6), then use this as the reference.

Well im basically stuck in a back and forth blamathon between Sprint Gas and the orig installer as why my system barely gets me to work most days and I've had about all I can handle. 5 weeks warrantly left, over 15 gas shop visits and im out thousands of dollars.
If they dont sort it out soon im off to Fair Trading. Heres some names to avoid SPRINT GAS - I know for a fact the system in my car was pulled from the market for 6 months due to s**t injectors yet they still argue its not their problem GO2GAS GC - Dont even get me started.

For the record the fault is constant fuel stavation. Sometimes it wont even do 1500pm, but never beyond 4000. The system will constantly cut back to petrol on the freeway under decel/high back pressure conditions too. An average trip to work may require me re-switching to gas a dozen times.

a dyno session should sort it out easily.
I am very sorry to hear your problems, It could be a simple as the gas tank valve freezing up on high flows. something that restricts gas flow could be anywhere between the tank and the injectors

I wonder if the regulator is getting enough vacuum to suck gas into the injector rail in large volumes?

A lot of installers have had problems with the Sprint Gas Injection system
( And they feel really let down by Sprint gas ) Sprint Gas removed the product from the market for a few months due to injector problems Suggest anyone having problems talks direct with Sprint Gas in their State Autogas Systems QLD |

Hmmmm Interesting.
I think it was mentioned here already, but perhaps using an AU tune might solve the problem. I had a Ford Escape (V6, 3.0, Duratech) on the Dream and I ended up buying the programming cable and key myself. Not cheap!!!!! ... The ECU has an "Auto" Tune option, however it didnt get it right, not by a long shot. I tuned it myself and in the end it worked perfectly warm, and 98% perfectly cold. Fords Lean Operation at times really screws with the tune. It does sound like you have a reg problem - like its getting cold. The Dream will switch to petrol in a number of circumstances including low vapour pressure and the reg getting too cold. For the Record - my escape used to spin out to 6200 rpm on Gas (just not quite as quick as petrol). Now as a cool reference... if/when the GTI System or something based on it goes live : I had my EB II on the GTI System. I had it running on the FACTORY ecu (no interceptor!!!) and it Idled perfectly, Lean Cruised, and Hauled a** right to the red line in every gear (including top). Cheers Nigel |

So I assume you bought the whole kit with the engineers key etc. I also got the tuning software but was dissappointed the ability to do you own tune is locked out with no key

I had mine installed at the GC, but then bought the key and dongle.
Much better to tune that way. I dont have the car anymore though. Do miss it. Cheers |

haha dddp im not sure wiether your talking about me or not... maybe 10 months ago i posted pics on the injection install of my ef that my dad had fitted?.... dunno anyway. although my system isnt the dream i have been spending quite abit of time down at my dads work trying to learn some tricks about cars in general (n00b) the dream system is good, easy to work with so my old mans boss says.
in my opinion i feel that my previous car that had a normal converter setup was actually better then the injection for an ef. 1) Injection costs alot, it takes time to get the maps correct to the car as the installers dont exactly fit many to an ef/el/au. you will have issues, i had quite a few and im lucky that i have someone so close to resolve these. 2) Economy was much better on the converter setup, change over was quicker, car ran smooth with no problems. the injection kit for my car at cost was about 2000 not including tank or lines. you can get a non injection setup for like 1500 dollars in parts? leave the injection for the b series dude, they have had the time spent on them to make sure they are 100%... just my thoughts.
