Hi all,
Hoping someone can help me here, I have an AUII ute dedicated gas. The converter has failed and was leaking water into the inlet. I have the parts kit, have dismantled the converter and ready to reassemble but the instructions are calling for me to use acid free vaseline on the orings and seals during the reassemble. Does anyone have any ideas on what this is specifically and where to get it or what else can be used that is readily available. Thanks in advance. |

Yet an other reason why the liquid side of LPG systems should be left to licensed gas fitters.

Take your box of bits to a licensed fitter and get him to put it back together. That is the best way to overcome your problem. Regards TPVM.

We did take the issue up with admin but it seems it's easier for them to just bury their heads and look the other way. I guess the only way for you fools to learn is for someone to end up in hospital or worse. |

Two gas fitters who take the time to offer their qualified advice for free, when they don't really have to.
Isn't giving free advice saving people money ?? Perhaps I just don't get it

The other townsville member doesn't run LPG, Though he has bought parts from me and I'm building him a new diff, and posibly an engine. I'm constantly booked out 2 weeks ahead, and work 12 hours a day. I can asure you the last thing I need is cheap skates wanting stuff done on the cheap. There is no way for me to profit from telling people not to do there own gas work. The panel van man has never told any of these people to go to him to have the problem fixed. and to quote snap. Perhaps I just don't get it we give advice were it doesn't concern opening the liquid side of the gas system. We tell people to leave it to licencd gas fitter when it does mean opening the liquid side and we will continue to do so |

To Wild EB yes I am a licensed fitter but at present I am working in the Fork Lift industry [Better than cars] as both Snap & Tickford 6 said we are not trying to feather our nests from our advice. We do it because we have a genuine concern for you, your mates and any one else who thinks they know it all and want to play with something that is both dangerous and illegal to do so. I do not sit here and plead with the likes of you for profit. One day you may understand but in the mean time we would ask that you kept a civil tongue in your postings. Merry Christmas TPVM.
