Hey guys, last night i picked up an ex taxi ba mk3 for $300, only real problem is that its idling very rough, but once the revs are above 1000rpm, its fine, at first i thought it might have been plugs, but have changed them, and its still happening, any ideas on what else it could be?
Cheers, Matt

lots of things.
Starting with basics i'd be looking for a vacuum leak (inlet manifold gasket etc). Also get someone suitable qualified (or at the very least someone who knows how) to clean the idle jet and change the LPG filter failing that its time for compression tests etc - could be a burnt valve |

the chances of all 6 coils being knackered is about bugger all. in fact for less than the price of 6 coils you could probably get someone who knows what theyre doing to diagnose it for you.
When you say it doesnt sound like a manifold leak what experience are you basing that on? Inlet manifold gaskets are common as a**holes on these cars and can cause exactly that sympton... |

try cleaning the throttle body with carby cleaner and clean cloth, make sure you open and close butterfly while spraying. also the oxygen censor (i think it's called) should be on the induction inlet near the air cleaner, take of two screws and spray with carb cleaner.
