Hi one of my friends wants to put her ba xr6 on gas because she will have to travel from Melbourne to Taralgon a few times a week. And she wants it to be on dedicated LPG wondered if anyone had done this before and if it was possible?

Not worth it and it can't be done on many of the more advanced systems. Tell her to get a good injected gas conversion, like a JTG or Orbital Liquid Injection system or even a Euro Gas injection system.

Why dedicated??

Apart from the minuscule weight saving there is no point in taking out a perfectly good petrol fuel delivery system.

The injected gas systems that i know of usually require the car to start on petrol & then swap over to LPG, so removing the petrol system isn't possible with most, if not all injected setups.

My easyjet system, vapor injection, can start on LPG, but in winter that doesn't work too well. It's fine in summer tho.

Just leave the petrol system there & get a nice injected gas setup, liquid if the budget goes that far, if not a vapor injection setup is the next best thing. Don't go for an old mixer style, as the car will be doing a lot of miles, the injected system being better on economy will save more in the long run.

What's the planned life of the car? 5 years? This needs to be taken into consideration when forking out for a gas system, to work out the pay back time & what you will save.

Cheers
