Hey Guys

I've just bought a 2006 BF after-market dual-fuel ex-"country taxi" as a cheap run about for rainy days where I don't want to use my motorcycle (had the brakes lock up on me and scared my quite badly).

The car itself is in really good shape except for one thing; whenever it is switched from Petrol to LPG the revs go up a little bit (for roughly a second) and then it dies.

I've spoken to a mechanic friend (who lives a while away so he can't physically see it) and he said it's likely to be the idle jet.

Now I know there are guides on how to clean the idle jet but I can't for the life of me find one for the BF (or BA) falcon that make sense. Plenty say that it's under the converter but none say exactly what or where the converter is.

If anyone could help me out with pictures and a process to clean the idle jet (I've been told spraying the idle jet with some carby cleaner does wonders) then I would really appreciate it :D

Depending on the converter at may not have an idle jet. That factory gas cars do have an issue with blockages but most of the aftermarket systems have an idle adjustment screw.

With out knowing what's fitted, it's hard to help.

Okay, I'll try to find something that says the LPG kit's manufacturer's name on it, it's a bit too dark right now but I'll try to have it by tomorrow morning with some pictures of the engine bay if that helps

Okay, here are some pics I took this morning, if you would like pics of anywhere of the car, please ask.

The engine bay.
(The red oval in the bottom left is where I found a metal box with "Australian LPG Warehouse" on it.

The intake manifold.

Some aftermarket wiring that may be for the LPG system.

This is what was on the box on the side of the air intake.

Given that it looks to be an Emer vapour injection system, there will be no Idle at all.

I would suggest you take to an LPG shop with deals with Emer lpg.
With out the software you are going to get nowhere.

Okay, thank you for the advice, I'll find a place that deals with LPG around where I live and have them take a look at it.

Edit: Just an update for anyone who has a similar problem, I ended up just holding the revs at roughly 1.5K when I switched to LPG and the rev's dipped then came back up, has run fine since then.
When first turned on it will have the petrol light illuminated and the LPG light flashing (until the engine warms up I guess). After a bit (<1 minute) it will switch to just LPG.
