It depends on the car sometimes...
My wifes AU Futura Series 1 Aftermarket Mixer ring LPG runs best on Shell..hates everything else..... My previous AU S1 Factory duel fuel got better economy on BP & Mobil, ran brilliant on 100% propane, Shell it just ran crap and got 40-50 kays less economy.... My BA Egas doesnt seem to concerned, but does get better economy on BP/Mobil. Once it trains itself on 100% propane its better again but needs a couple tanks to learn. Still get crap economy on Shell tho... Have been filling up recently at a new servo which is a Woolworths(Safeway)/Caltex and that has been fine so far too..... LPG isnt LPG by a long shot.... 100% Propane is the 98 Octane of the ULP world....

They are a gas place like BOC gasses, but they run some servo's too, so you can fill up your car from their 100% propane bowsers. I find it's usually the same price or slightly cheaper than autogas (regular lpg), and the price doesn't move around too much for a period of 1mth. http://www.supagas.com.au/ Cheers ToranaGuy Well there you go, there IS an Adelaide site: SUPAGAS ADELAIDE Cnr Ridgeway and Bellchambers Roads, Elizabeth West, SA 5113 Ph: (08) 8252 7472 Fax: (08) 8252 6939 Email: supasa@supagas.com.au Thanks, ToranaGuy !!

I've heard BP is better than shell....however I work casual at a shell servo and often get LPG for less than 40c/L, so I just use shell anyway, can't justify the extra 15c/L for BP, in a 80L tank it's $32 to fill at shell or $44 to fill at BP (assuming 55c/L)....for me anyways

Hence why I use to used it for Dyno days and stuff An extra rwkw is an extra rwkw LOL 111.2rwkw on a mixer ring setup isnt bad for a 840k motor with extractors and catback ehaust....

I don't fill at shell ... mainly cos they pumps are slow and don't have locking clips
I mainly fill at either Mobil/BP as they are closer to me. There is a United nearby that seems to be good as well. The BP near me is usually the cheapest ... along with the 2c off card as well. I never use Woolworths after many issues with converter clogging up from poor LPG from them. I'd rather fill at a Shell than a Woolies servo.

The answer is there is no govt regulation as to what the petrol companies give us. The two component gases are Propane and Butane. Propane is what they use in household gas and forklifts it gives you more power less distance. Supa gas outlets sell straight Propane, Country outlets also sell straight propane because they only send one tanker up and fill both house bottles, barby bottles and servo's. That's why people say country gas is s**t in regards to economy. They difference between brands is that allegedly the wax that is added to enable the gas to be compressed without seizing the compressors is filtered out by some oil companies and not others, once again allegedly, Shell does not, Mobil does, BP does. My preference is Supa gas or Mobil I recently dismantled a converter that had been on Mobil for at least 10 years and there was no wax in it to speak of. Regards TPVM

Whenever i fill up at SupaGas, on straight propane, i always get between 50 & 100kms more to a tank of LPG, without tuning my LPG injection to suit. I guess the ECU check's the o2 sensor, finds the mixture richer than it expects & backs the injection timing off to get the mixture right. My system is due for a set of filters again soon, so i should check them & see what they are like, gunked up or not.
Cheers ToranaGuy
