U can do it but why???
i dont see no benefits from doing it, dual fuel is great as if u have a problem on lpg or petrol then u just switch over till u sort out the problem. Ive never been a fan of straight lpg cars for the above reason

Ive never been a fan of straight lpg cars for the above reason "because straight gas produces more power"....this is what people always say but its wrong when it comes to running a basic impco system on an efi car.....weight - seriously how much does a plastic fuel tank weigh with 10lts fuel + pump + lines + injectors not worth it....u wont gain 1hp

Fair enough but my car never starts properly on lpg and never really runs as well as it does on petrol. My system starts on petrol and then is suppose to kick over to lpg which it may do sometimes. On lpg it makes a little power then at around 4000 rpm it just takes off, while petrol has consistant power across the rev range would having the car dyno tuned fix these issues??

sounds like its leaning out...your fcv could be stuffed....there a very basic and reliable system...i must have done 100,000k on mine...and its a 10 year old system.....i did have lean out problems until everything got adjusted properly
only take it to a gas specialist or mechanic with a strong understanding of these systems, most mechanics SHOULD know how to fix gas but a lot are clueless....

Car ran like a dream before conversion. Really regret the conversion sometimes but it does save me more the $100 a week. and the car went back for it 1000km service or check up.

If the workshop is screwing u around and dont fix it, do urself a favour and call Anthony from http://www.amautomotive.com.au/ and i ganrentee he will sort it out and get it running perfect. XR-Lane For the cost of a proper vapour system like Eurogas compared to impco the impco is more attractive in price and the price of vapour is actually worth more than the car itself. Impco is set and forget setup and has proven itself to be a very good system and i have it in my EF XR6 and its fantastic and ive had a EL with an Airod system and my parents have an EF with a Landi renzo and by far the impco is the way to go then Airod.

I guess it depends what you are wanting from the car and how long you intend to keep it. But with the further savings you get with the vapor injection at the pump, along with the better performance, I still say its a better way to go. And with the growing concern of liquid injection, the vapor injection systems are becoming cheaper already. |

But you did mention the idea of a gas research system so I assumed you had means to spend some coin on the car. MICKYYYY wrote: the price of vapour is actually worth more than the car itself I dont how much you expect to pay for a injection system, but I am sure depending on the condition of brads EL, its worth more than 2.5k. |

i got my impco system installed for $2500.00 and a eurogas system installed is $4000.00 so theres a $1500.00 dollar difference to start with.
To make back the difference from the $1750.00 rebate with impco is matter of 6 months tops depending on how many kms u do. With eurogas the pay back of the eurogas system is more like 24 months before u start making ur money back. Basically the pay back period is 4 times longer which to me is abit silly for an EL but if it was an BA onwards then vapour or liquid injection is the way to go as the car has a decent market value
