Does it matter what direction the coolant flows through a converter? Or in particular, an Airod converter? I forgot which way it was connected and having changed the motor it's not something i'm able to discern.

Should not make any difference. It's just water in and out to heat on the way through, it would/should have been plumbed off the engine originally to keep the flow of heat moving,

Yes does not matter which way it flows.

It does and they are marked with arrows or in/out but it's not crucial.

I have an airod in the shed I might be able to tell.

I looked for markings but couldn't see any, but i'll have another look. I might also post the model details and see if that helps. Thanks for the responses guys.

I just plumbed the hoses up the other day in the most convenient way, but if new information comes to light i will re-assess.

Depends on the brand/model etc, some have arrows some don't, some are more likely to freeze up if the coolant flows the wrong way.

When i looked previously i did notice that the supply (vapour) hose port had a massive "S" sticker stuck next to it. Nothing big like that next to the heater hose ports though.
