Anyone running it? pro's and cons?
Considering getting a second car more than likely a late E series.. but the idea of direct gas injection sounds good.. anyone with any experience?

I ask joe at cresent motorsports and said a kit will cost around $4000. I think its worth it but install in if the kit is worth more then the car.

Are you talking sequential gas injection?
I have it done to my BA. No difference to running on petrol. Had the pressure levels adjusted as it was running crappily, and the car is even better than when the system was installed 6 months ago.

I am looking at running my ED on straight gas, when the new engine goes in, hopefully with twin lines and dual converters.
I have heard you can get a higher compression ratio with LPG than petrol?

yeh the RON rating is higher then petrol. correct me if im wrong. also i was reading on here that if you up the compression to around 11:1 , the car would perform better or something like that.

I have heard you can get a higher compression ratio with LPG than petrol? My BA Egas wagon has a compression ratio of 10.7:1

Even though LPG has a very high RON rating,
running compression levels too high can be dangerous due to the quality of LPG being inconsistent. Butane to Propane ratio's are critical, I honestly dont know what quality and variation is we have here in Au, of if any one supplier is better than another. But globally theres some pretty big differences in LPG. -- Also someone else might be able to confirm or deny this as my evidence is purely anecdotal, but low turnover lpg isnt as good possibly due to propane sinking to the bottom of storage tanks.. (or maybe its the other way around I cant remember which is heavier, higher levels of propane is what increases the RON though)

On another more on topic note, f**k direct gas injection on an older e series.. It sounds great and man id love to have it if it wasnt so retardedly (and unreasonably?) expensive.
The main issue with lpg performance is air mass displacement in the head and manifold, you loose about 30%. Spend some cash doing flow improvements, exaust and intake, head work perhaps, increase the comp ratio a bit, put a gas friendly cam in. You will still always have that little bit of extra lag compared with petrol, but that lag can be greatly minimised.
