I know for a fact, at least, that all TF and RA Rodeo 4JB1, 4JH1 and 4JJ1 turbo diesels have catalytic converters and pretty much anything Isuzu-ish like Jackaroo's, MU's and Frontera's have them too. Captiva and Astra diesels sport a cat aswell.

Regards, Dave Nope, some heavy petrol 4WD's got around this for years (Patrols, BLandbruisers and mobile oil leak Landrovers etc), diesel requirements only became a requirement within the last 10yrs, trying to find out the date now, the problem is the converter would loose it's effectiveness quickly if the diesel engine was not electronically controlled in some way. It is illegal to remove a catalytic converter on any vehicle originally fitted with from factory or required for registration purposes (i.e. Barra V8 fitted to XY etc) regardless if CNG/LPG was used.

I was canaried once for too loud exhaust on my full race worked mini with only a turbo muffler and megaphone chrome tip. That thing used to shoot flames out the exhaust in the dark when you changed gears on a hot run. It had a 380 degree cam which meant overlap and fresh fuel into the exhaust ports.
