I am after some straight facts on whether it is worth transfering a EL Tickford Head and/or the ECU onto an EF Futura which is fitted with the factory Tickford LPG and corresponding ECU.
I understand the tickford head has 2 mm bigger exhaust valves which will help outbound flow rates. I intend adding Pacemaker extractors and a 2.5in sport exhaust to further assist..regardless of this possible transfer of heads. The facts I need are: Is the EL Tickford Head going to provide worthwhile performance/economy improvements? Will the EF Tickford LPG ECU accept the EL Tickford head without trouble? Does the EL Tickford ECU have to be transferred over as well as the head for maximum gain and if so, does the EL Tickford ECU have the correct software to recognise the EF Tickford LPG system? Thanks for any help. Barry

I had an EF on Factory Gas which did a head, so I had to replace it...Could only fine a tickford one, threw it on with no other changes (had tickford cam and rocker gear)and I got an exta 30-40km range from each tank...power was also up a little, in the 2500RPM and up range...
I still had the stock ECU... |

EF and EL ECU's are 'NOT' interchangeable.
The head can make a difference, but prolly not noticeable. Your number one restriction is the lpg system.

Thanks Guys..
Kris was your car stock at the time or did you already have exhaust mods?.. Krytox your info was exactly what I needed to know as I want to stay with the factory LPG. Now I have to decide if there is enough benefit to go thru the hassle of changing the head alone..
