today i did that mod where u cut holes in the airbox to improve flow to the filter (its great, everyone do it)...

the problem is that now whenever gas is used, it will idle when stopped and drive completely fine until you release the pedal to slow down. then the revs will slowly drop until it stalls.

the gas kit is only 1000km old so i still need to take it back for tuning...will this solve the problem?

Where is your balance line connected to? Your air box now has positive pressure when you are on the move. The line should run from the converter to the bottom half of the air box.

Might be wise to throw some 100Mph tape (or similar) over the extra holes and see whether your problem disappears - if it does, at least you've saved a bit on unneeded tuning.
Might end up being a waste of time, but at least you know for sure.

Ok, looked at the mod. Your balance line is your problem. Your air box nolonger has positive pressre. Disconnect the line at the converter. I have no line because I have holes cut in my snorkle. When I get around to fitting a new snorkle I will need to fit a balance line to my car.

so block off the line or just leave the hole?

Hard to explain. The balance line allows for the positive air pressure in your air box. You now dont get this effect at speed due to your mod. So the balance line is not needed at all. I currently have no balance line at all. Dont plug the line, just pull the line off at the converter end and let the converter feel the air pressure in your engine bay.
This is a simple test, disconnect the balance line at the converter (dont plug anything up) and go for a drive.

It is needed for closed throttle at speed. Your intake is not affected (same as mine) by this due to the holes that have been cut.
