Can anyone offer some advice
I have a 2006 BF dedicated gas ute. I had problems with the gas converter in 2009, where the converter freezes up. My partner at the time was a mechanic , he pulled the converter apart and cleaned and replaced the seals. This converted lasted until 2012, when it s**t itself and I had it replaced by a gas mechanic with a reconditioned converter that cost me around $800 from memory. This reconditioned converter has been fine up until last week when my car just stop when driving .. I checked the converter and it was leaking a lot of water, and was hot to touch. The RACV guy tapped the bottom of converter and it poured out with water, and then would kick over again. I got the car towed home. It now starts, but I'm not sure what i need to do..... Is it ok to keep driving , do i need to purchase a repair kit removed the converter and dry out/ replace the seals ect, or buy a new/ reconditioned converter. Also how long should a reconditioned converter last ? |
