I went to the car doctor a few months back, in preparation for my new car, they couldn't give me a definate on the waiting list, but they estimated about 12months :/. 21st Century auto's off dixon rd. (ex ford head mechanic) good bloke, estimated about a 6month wait Hey Toranaguy there's been a rumour going around for years that very soon the government is going to put a tax on gas, bringing it up to 80c or more per litre, any news on that? |

the gov is taxing gas ...
not to 80c though check out the fed gov websites. It is to be staged over a few years but should still be about half the price of petrol. |

They are going to add about 12.5cpl IIRC of tax to the price of lpg, which is a disgrace considering they should be encouraging cleaner fuels. Make no mistake, we pay GST on LPG already, and then they will add another Tax on a Tax. They planned to phase it in over a few yrs. I think the 1st part may already be in the price of LPG. Still, checked the price gap latly? So close to 90cpl cheaper than petrol, another 12.5cpl on the cost of lpg over the govt's timeframe, and we can be sure that petrol will have a 90% chance of rising atleast that much, if not a lot more over the same timeframe. LPG still works out to be a better deal. Petrol has risen a bit over 30cpl in the last 3 or 4 yrs. Mind you LPG has gone up as well, i can remember paying 18.9cpl filling up my Torana. Some LPGI systems can even be used for CNG, i know the poliauto gear in my ford promotes they can run either LPG or CNG. Makes the investment a little better. Cheers ToranaGuy

Yeah, theyre still pretty busy i guess. Said they could book me in at the end of june. Changed me mind on the car too, getting a fairlane G220 now. Hopefully wont cost too much more for the gas system. |
