72.9 here for LPG and 143.9 for 91RON ULP. 98 is "only 153.9"

The oil companies are royally bending us over but the ACCC doesn't know how to gow about proving it.

Supposedly the ACCC were saying on the news last night that the petrol companies are not monopolizing petrol/gas, they have been given the all clear..... Absolute joke.... They are there is no 2 ways about it and the sad thing is it will only get worse.... Cant imagine in 10 years time what we will be paying.... Actually I don't want to know

Here in the northern and western suburbs it's been 64.9 for weeks and i am sick of it. Ghia97.... mate get a new oxygen sensor and you should improve consumption a heap. I did and I get 17 Ltr per hundred klm now. Which is not that much more than petrol. It still costs half the price of petrol to run on gas. when I got first converted in 99 it was 13cpl about $12 a tank. My last tank was $45 I nearly choked!

In my ol' ZJ Fairlane about 9-10 years ago i could get gas for around 18cpl in Ballarat. I was recently in Robe S.A the petrol was 146.9cpl and gas 82.9cpl. I couldnt understand why on the same why petrol was dearer in Melbourne! So much for discounting and it must cost nothing to cart fuel to remote areas now !

The exhorbitant price of fuel in remote area's is totally unjustified. just for example say a tanker carries 100,000 litres. If you drive it 5 hours away (10hr return) at a cost of say $2000 at $200hr running cost then that adds 1% to the load. or roughly 1.5cL so how does it cost 10c more for fuel in Horsham? 20cL more in Bordertown????
I can accept 5cL and maybe 15cL for Central Australian locations. I don't believe that 30cL or more can be justified. I fuel is transported by bulk rail freight for the long hauls to Alice Springs depot etc. then it should only cost a couple of cents per litre to transport to the local hub. Am I right?

A lot of places in the NT are on Generator Power (Loads of Diesel) - so the up the price to cover that (they dont get lots of business). Theres also the supply/demand thing - a lot of them are stations and see a profit to be made in the market.

I just completed a little drive up the QLD coast, into darwin, down through NT/Alice, SA and then home.

Cheap : Broken Hill at under 60c. Expensive : $1.09 at Bourke and Wills Roadhouse, and half the time the pump doesnt start

Surprise : Yulara/Kings Canyon are 73c, the stations up the road (100km) are 99c

Special Mention goes to all the idiots with sites with leaking pumps : Pick up the Nozzle, and while your screwing it to the car it goes up to 35c.

I complained about it, and was told "tuff" most times : although that seems to change when you talk about calling the Supply Company.
