Hello all,
Just a quick question, I taking the ECU out to put in the wiring for the shiftkit I bought. I coundn't see clearly due to linited space but I was undoing a bolt which I thought was holding the protective plastic covering for the wires. This bolt sits in the middle of the wires of the plugs and has a small stalk. What is it for? Does it have some sort of tuning function. thanks in advance |

ummm it holds the connector to the ecu (10mm bolt) so that it doesnt move or come loose making your car inoperative.
If you are wiring up a shift kit, power should be disconnected at the battery and ecu removed from connector (said 10mm bolt) before commenceing any soldering etc to protect the ECU from damage. just a thought, it might save you some money by reading up on this stuff first before attempting anything to do with the electrical system on your car.
