Hello all,

Just a quick question, I taking the ECU out to put in the wiring for the shiftkit I bought. I coundn't see clearly due to linited space but I was undoing a bolt which I thought was holding the protective plastic covering for the wires. This bolt sits in the middle of the wires of the plugs and has a small stalk. What is it for? Does it have some sort of tuning function.

thanks in advance

ummm it holds the connector to the ecu (10mm bolt) so that it doesnt move or come loose making your car inoperative.

If you are wiring up a shift kit, power should be disconnected at the battery and ecu removed from connector (said 10mm bolt) before commenceing any soldering etc to protect the ECU from damage.

just a thought, it might save you some money by reading up on this stuff first before attempting anything to do with the electrical system on your car.
