Can someone provide some pictures of the set up of hoses and valves on a IMPCO carburetor Model E and mixer model 200. I got these on my Ford Falcon and there seems to be problem with them as the LPG consumption is quite high, about 20$/100km in town.
There are places on the carburetor that should connect to certain hoses but no hoses connect to them at tall, might be all felt off? There is a hose connect to the side of the mixer but it does not connect to anything, what should I do with that. Any help are appreciated |

Take it to an LPG specialist and get it tuned properly.

the impco system really needs to have a valve on the blance line to the converter to help trim ratios a bit at idle and cruise.
i had a stepper motor on mine also that helped. i used to get 350-400km out of a tank but yeah its best to take it to someone and get a tune done at the same time. the vacuum stuff must be setup correctly for the system work at its best

on the mixter there should be a brass jet where one hose from there gose to the convertor either on a T picse or it may be on the oposit side of the cover with an elbow & a 2mm hole & a FCV (fuel contorl valve) back to the mixter this needs to be checked on a gas anylizer for C.O as it then may need brass rings under the mixter jet to get right ??? then if all of your electronics are hooked up properly & you have the right diaphram in the mixter it should work other wise its always going to run in open loop (rich)

if all of a sudden you have increased consumption it is likely to be the feedback system...the O2or fcv are likely buggered..
the mixer is jetted rich and the feedback system leans it....when the system fails it goes full rich all the time...

I have made some photos of the carburetor (model E), part of the mixer (model 200) and something I do not know name of it. I have put # on the places where the hoses should hook to. Can someone have a look and tell me what should go where, e.g. # 1 connect to # X, etc.
I managed to get a manual from IMPCO for model E carburetor. However, I do not know what is what in the diagram, can someone tell me what on the diagram is the things in my pictures? Thanks a lot |

No5 is the RCV (reactive control valve) leave it there......No 4 is the elbow with the 2mm hole & the restrictor inside for atmosphere vent.......run a 3/8 hose from the elbow to the fcv (fuel control valve)...... not in your pics ?..........then the vac line from the mixer goes to it, the pic with 1,2,3 is a vac/bleed which I cannt remember ?? its been a while since I've played this this set up.....
but this is all pointless unless all of the electronics are working & conected in there right location also you need the correct diaphram in the mixer to operate correct o/p feed back cotrol ?? see how you go |

Is there still any interest in this thread?
I have the model E and 200 mixer on my car, can take shots if it's of any use. I would really like to get hold of an installation wiring diagram for this setup, which includes the Impco FCP-1 processor and a 'dual-start relay' device. Are there any installers or users out there who have manuals or diagrams? cheers, Brian |
