Hey, I don't know if this is the right section, By all means let me know.

I was just looking at this on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FUEL-FILTER-STAI ... dZViewItem

Its a STAINLESS STEEL ELEMENT WITH BILLET ALUMINUM HOUSING Fuel Filter

Has anyone used this? and how good is it?

Like is this suitable for a stock EF gli Engine? And what are other ones that i can look at to put on my car?

for a EF man just stick to the Z373 the standard fuel filter there is no need to get a "performance" fuel filter. 13 bucks for a westfil/coopers is all you need. THis is just another gimmick

Im a newbie but what gains do you get when you put "performance" Fuel filters on your car?? :?:
And the ones that are on my car currently are from ford which cost me 30$ :!:

Sorry for these questions i want to learn though.

your net gonna get any "performance" gain from using this filter, unless you are running a huge petrol drinker V8 or bigger, the Standard filters flow plenty good enough, If your car is having issues that needs to get more fuel to the motor a set of injectors is probably the solution, but the car will get no performance gain from this filter, its pure fleabay marketing only.

As KRZ351 has said $13 OEM part is sufficient.

Ok thanks.
Two more questions would this be good in terms of its re usability :?:
Or is there other filters that are reusable, better and cheaper :?:

would you reuse a oil filter?

the filter is designed to catch tiny pieces of foreign matters say you was it and clean it and get 70% of what you can see out or if something doesnt go back together right etc strip a thread now you have a piece of foreign matter that could be pumped tp injectors = bad expensive damage.

in the short of it its faster easier less hassle and safer to just throw it away and get a new one.

as dave said if you have fuel issues eg not enough for engine then your problem is elsewhere

just my 2c worth - i will never buy a coopers fuel filter again

car started running like s**t on petrol but gas was fine - conclusion had to be injectors

remove and clean injectors - filter baskets clogged - thats not right something wrong here

removed cooper fuel filter that had done 10k's max and it rattled so i cut in half for inspection and the back seal plate on the paper filter inside had fallen off allowing fuel to pass without going thru the filter material

so long story short new filter baskets/RYCO filter and fuel line flush it all sweet again
