Hi guys, I decided to install a lpg on my 99 fairmont.
I rang 3 workshops, one is gas man seven hills, they do impco with 3 years warranty, the others do airod with 1 year component warranty plus 3 years labour warrant.

I don't know which system is better or relible, or which is more suitable for my fairmont?
Can anyone give me some idea? Thanks.

Reliability comes down to the quality of the install and the quality of the LPG you put in it.
the impco is going to have a 225 mixer which when flow tested peak flow is about the same as a 44mm mixer ring. They will both have oxygen sensor feedback.

Shop around and don't go for the cheapest job, as anyone who has been there will tell you it will be the nastiest job and will be nothing but trouble.

I had an airod in my car for a while after my vialle shat itself. The thing pinged and went through gas like I go through beer. No one could tune it and after 3 weeks I demanded to get another vialle.
Having said that, people have had success with them but for some reason they don't like to play ball with the factory falcon stepper motor control.
Because you would be fitting it with its own standalone controller, you would have more success with it than I did.

I have had both and Impco is set and forget and i found the Airod to get out of tune easier, and i think that comes down to installer & lpg processor used.

Most Airod system use a Tartarini lpg processor and my lpg fitter has had issues with them but not sure which model as there is a few of them.

My Impco system has been great and they a 200 mixer and has been running without any issues.

Here is my Impco setup in my EF XR6

This is how u will expect ur install if u get a Impco system installed and The Gas Man do a great job of install and tuning, speak to Rob as he is the gun tuner if i remember his name correctly.

If u decide to go Airod the only person i suggest to use is Joe from http://www.crescentmotorsport.com.au/ and he is also a site sponcer.

I think Tickford wanted to know how you run the car - e.g. when cold, run on petrol til warm up ,then change to gas, or keep switch on LPG, etc.
Probably better to carry this on at ford-lpg-hydrogen-hho-cng-conversions-f44/newly-installed-impco-cold-start-issue-t97680.html

I think you'll find the BBM engines will be running the 200M mixer, bit of a shame, the 225 on my XH BBM certainly seemed to perform better than the 200 on my EL. No surprise I guess with the flow rates. ford-lpg-hydrogen-hho-cng-conversions-electric-f44/impco-vs-airod-pros-and-cons-t77001.html
