yeah i had a 200 and then changed to a 225
its fine on the stock EF engine i just put in, but i dont think it was big enough with even a wade 1604 in the EB engine i just pulled out. i dont think i can fit a 425 anywhere with the log manifold so im fitting a gas research system this weekend and a wade 1673-14 this weekend, will be good to see how it goes.

Yep, my 225 runs out of puff at 3500rpm with my Wade 1673 cam.
I just short shift everywhere while on LPG, and switch over to Petrol for some fun. LOL Cheers BenJ

lol mine used to sort of hit a wall at 4500rpm, but now with the standard EF engine it revs to 5000rpm (kinda hits a wall at 4800rpm ish)
so im not sure if the last engine maybe had the same power (meaning using the same amount of air/gas) at the lower revs compared to the EF at slightly higher due to the higher comp, head work and the cam. but the engine was pretty shagged anyway. but the 225 is more than fine on a standard engine, it may be a tiny bit less poky than an engine with no mixer in the intake, but cant really get around that.

That is the main reason I am now looking at Gas Vapour Injection.
I can have improved economy and power, and then when on Petrol, no restrictions in the air intake. BenJ

it seems to be getting cheaper also!
spotted a kit on ebay (no tank obviously) for around $500 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/LPG-VAPOUR-INJEC ... 2c5357f4e1 im actually paying $500 for this gas research gear lol kinda made me reconsider my purchase but not sure if something like the above would be any good with boost

Only touch brand name LPG gear dude
Now that ive had my impco setup for over a yr now i can say im very happy with the system and it was set and forget where with the Airod i had it tuned twice but thats becuz i wanted more out of it and had an issue with the stepper motor. Having said that they seem to be on par and all i can say is make sure u get a good lpg installer to do the job so u dont have any issues.

That kit looks really cheap, and a copy of a European kit. I can't even get a new set of injectors for the AI Easyjet system in my car for that amount of money. Do you know anyone who will install it if you can't? Do you know a LPG fitter that will compliance it so it's legal for you?
Any issues i have had with LPG setups has always been due to a poor install. Bad soldering, poor placement of components under the hood, or under the floor of the car, poor placement of the fill point, yada yada. Stick with a LPG installer that is known to do good work, there are a few spoken about for good work here on fordmods.com. Cheers ToranaGuy

That kit on Ebay is not a bad bit of gear at all.
Snap0964 has now installed one in his EL Wagon, and with the use of a laptop, it tunes itself based on the existing petrol tune, and has the further capability of manual adjustment of the fuel maps. He has reported increases in power and driveability, as well as improvements in fuel economy. The seller has installed many of these kits and is happy to give support over the phone to self installers. Cheers BenJ

lol full on!
maybe i should have bought that over the GRA gear? any idea how much power it would support (or even if it would) in a boosted setup?

My understanding is that the kit in the standard supplied form can support up to 160rwkws.
However, with a bit of lateral thinking, adding in a second convertor, and having one convertor supply 3 injectors each, along with some larger LPG injectors, I think it could do more quite easily. This would need a fair bit of research however. Cheers BenJ

frmo what i've read the kits seem to be pretty modular, so it would be good to look into it.
i wouldnt mind spending $600 on a vapour injection kit! i just spent $500 on gas research stuff lol

Being a sub $600 kit - it has it's limitations. Being in Melbourne, you can speak to the installer in person - for me, he was very helpful with support. He obviously must be giving compliance with his installs.
