Need some help.My sons EF duel fuel has destroyed it intake enough to need replacement, before we can get work done to it.What is my best and cheapest option to use.The OEM ones are no longer available from Ford.Would it be easier to get a EL series and fit that instead.Wreckers up here do not have much in the way of EF or EL's.Want to use tha same mixer ring etc.,

ef/el/au use the same or similiar intake manifold so i am sure putting a AU or EL one on a ef shouldn't hurt nothing

i have done the swap on my ef on gas to an el intake, the el ones are a better design and only tend to blow out the rubber section on the elbow when they blow out which can be taped up a few times, only problem i found is that the mixer on the ef was different,as in, back to front on the el intake but was lucky enough to get an el mixer thrown in on the deal, you just have to see what you can get hold of but you also need to get to the source as in starting with new plugs, leads, possible coil pack may cure your kabooms, its extremely frustrating,i know, been there done that, good luck

Here is mine, note the steel intake combined with springs on the airbox lid and the release valve on top of the lid. I dont have any problems busting intakes anymore. Actually, when it does occasionally I get a free cleaned air filter.

The AU intake goes straight over the gas mixer.

More pics of my intake.
It can pop off if there is a backfire and needed 1 mounting point cut off. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

i notice everyone puts their pod filter inside the airbox, i know it stops hot air from the engine but does it really make a difference?
i took the airbox out of mine... |

yeah, hot air is thinner, therefor you get less oxygen in the same area.
the airbox with a coldair intake means your drawing in cooler, denser air. the difference would be minimal, but it yor looking for every little power gain.... ive got a K&N pannel inside a springed airbox. |

All finished now, got a standard Ford intake and spent two hours massaging it out to fit the Mixer ring.Standard intake is 70mm and the mixer is 75mm.Had found coolant in the convertor when I opened the drain so this meant the replacement of the convertor.Fitted a Airod and at the moment still use the Tickee computer until we can work how the economy is going to go.Trying to work out which Airod was fitted, it says max of 18m3/h and I can not find anything else???Found the manufacturer web sites, anyone got any info on these convertors.
