I filled up tonight and the pump seemed to just keep going forever

I ended up putting in almost $43 worth and the tank wasnt empty to begin with

it took 69.42Lt and I decided to stop myself, usually it stops by itself with a clunk sound, never heard that tonight..

the tank is rated at 85Lt WC, at 80% this is 68Lt

take a look at the guage in the picture, its showing the needle well and truly past the F and is actually resting on the stop...

WTF piece of s**t tank and it was only tested NOV 07...

I went for a short 20km drive up the freeway to burn off some of the LPG so its at least got some space to expand

so has anyone seen them get this full and is it dangerous

last time one of the freinds thought he had overfilled it was actually a dodgey bowser! his 64 litre tank ended up magically holding 80 litres!

my fills from empty vary from 68-73L depending mostly on the weather. I know someone who tinkers with his AFL cutoff to get it to hold more like 90% plus than 80. I was going to give it a go sometime. There was a batch of faulty AFL's about 18mths ago and your's may be one of them. Take it back to where you had it tested It should be a free recall AKAIK. But don't be too concerned It won't blow up at that volume!

Not the first time I have heard this.

My mate used to run his so empty (4.0L I6 EF) that it would take 84L to refill on a 72L tank.

Rumour going around its the fuel companies misleading us, but I have more faith in our honest, trustworthy fuel stations (sarcasm).

rofl one day my dad's 64lt tank somehow took 100 lts to fill (tank was already half full), we confronted the servo station manager and got the LPG for free. Mind you he didn't believe us untill we showed him the stamped capacity on the tank
