hey guys i recently ran a full tank of gas on a trip and got 395kms out of 64Lt. this is 6.1 km per litre or 16.2Lt per 100km. is this good??? i have a 95 ef series II fairmont.

Any help would be good.

i would believe thats fairly s**t. i get about 400kms to a 65L tank in town. some heavy foot driving, but mostly light foot.

yeah i get annoyed if I don't get at least 400 out of a tank in the city. 700+ on the highway.

I would start looking for whats wrong. I would err on the side of a collapsed cat, also needing plugs and leads.

a full service will not go astray. when was the last time any of this stuff was looked at?

my old fairmont was the same about 200-230kms around town off 1 tank of gas (65lt) and i did have a collapsed cat. so check your cat converter.

recently serviced 6 months ago, i no injectors need cleaning. other than that everything seems too be fine

will a colapsed cat mess with your fuel economy that much? is there a way to tell if its gone up sh*t creek without taking it off?

i get about 400-450 around town in a ba xr6t ute, is that good or bad?

They normally rattle. And 450 odd ks out of a ba turbo round town isnt bad.... auto?

An EL isnt a heavy a** turbo BA though is it.
My EF is showing 10.something on the trip computer right now..

I was referring to the ef fairmont on gas not the Ba turbo

My ef just got 690 on a tank mixed highway and city driving, That was on fuel but!

yeah auto, i have gotten 800km befor sitting on 95km/h but that was a huge drag. its 16.2 lt/100km atm, wouldnt mind getting it down to 14ish, i drive fairly sedate but i think i just got a thirsty one
