Not worth it on an AU. We have a JTG system on a BA XR6 which was installed in 2009 and it is perfect, but something like an EMER gas injection system would be far easier to swallow (shouldn't cost more than $4000 before rebate compared to $5500 for JTG).

quote is only $4250 before rebate for straight JTG system. So already getting a pretty descent deal.

It won't be straight JTG. It HAS to be dual-fuel to meet Australian Design Rules.

Seems od as ford have just gone single fuel liquid injection on the egas.

For that price go for it. They basicly aren't charging you for the fitting costs.

Yup, but that's OEM, not aftermarket fitment.

ADRs are still ADRs. and they still have to comply with AS1425.

Bad advice, I have the icom JTG system installed on my AU V8 Fairmont and for $20 per 40 litres I am getting better economy than my daily Toyota Camry V6 2000 model and alot more power and torque than a camry. You'd want to after $4000.

"Flamin Hell those bloody mongrels will be stonin the bloody crows after I get my hands on that dead horse..." - Alf Stewart (after paying for an Icom JTG installation on his Ford Sierra Cosworth.)

If money is no issue, I cannot recommend the JTG system enough, as I have had my fair share of Parnell XC-XD-XG dual fuel vapor mixers.

$4000 compared to $5500, for the extra $1500 you have a world class gas injection system that basically feels on par with petrol with no stress about switching in between fuels. Oh wait, this is for a straight gas setup, if I was Kerry Packer Junior or Kirk Hammett during his Burger King days, I would still try to go for the JTG.

$1500 between perfect, or "not worth it on an AU" they made the system for most cars and the AU is a better car than my old BA XR6 was anyway. That thing had Korean wrapped in Celophane written all over it!!!

There are far better ways of spending $5500 (or $4500 after rebate) than on a JTG system for a 12 year old car. You can obtain similar performance with a $3500 (or $2500 after rebate) Emer SVI system from the same distributor (Australian LPG Warehouse) and because the Emer system is a vapour-phase system, you can legally run it as a single-fuel LPG system. The performance difference in everyday driving would not be noticeable (the Emer system keeps up with the petrol system in terms of performance) and $2000 will buy you a hell of a lot of LPG.

JTG is far better suited towards high performance applications, such as BA-FG (all models, as the engine outputs are higher than AU) and V8s.

Im with PoweredByCNG on this one!!!

If your going to keep the car for at least 6 years and do 25,000kms a year then MAYBE id sway towards JTG...

You keep saying this, but it makes no sense, Can you quote the legislation or provide a clause number from the ADRs or the standard.

There is a law stating that gaseous fuels cannot be circulated through an engine bay (or similar) when the engine is not running. Liquid Phase Injections require purging prior to commencement of operation.

Can you show me the the legislation?

Because no mater what, Ford still need to comply with all ADRs plus the LPG standard.
IF this law exists, every FG with LPi is not legal for use.
