Hey guys a family member has an EL wagon fitted with gas and it's started to backfire when I start it. Can't get it started on gas anymore but runs fine on petrol.........anyone know a good lpg mechanic around the Epping area of Melbourne ????

LPG requires a better spark than petrol...
Try some new leads (Good ones, 9mm prefered) and some new plugs. I used XR6 plugs gapped to 0.9mm

Good recomendations, mine back fired and bloo the top of the air cleaner off, found the problem to be the crappy motorcraft leads, ie run car at night in garage and check for sparks mine was shorting all over the place. I got some bosch hellicoil wound ones ($70 from bursons) and new plugs haven't had a problem in 120,000 ks. There are a few reasons it may not start check all breather hoses are still on, other possibility is the air flow sensor is damaged.
