Can anyone comment on
1) the viability of converting a new XR6 (BFII) to LPG. The Ford dealer says ''void your warranty if you do"
2) injected LPG vv induction
Thanks

An injected system is required in order to meet emissions regulations. A mixer type system cannot legally be installed on such a car.

Regards,
Dave

even most injection systems will still cause the engine light to come on as the exhaust gass mix will be different to expected.
Also it does void all engine/driveline warranty

also in some after market gas systems the traction control light comes on... and yes it voids your warranty on your engine. i know as i also work at ford

I would personally convert a petrol Falcon to LPG using an Sequential Vapour Injection system. The E-gas engine is a joke, especially when compared to the petrol engine (156kW vs. 190kW). A 190kW petrol engine will give you 190kW or more on SVI LPG, provided that installer knows what he/she is doing. You will also have no chance of experiencing a damaging backfire with SVI and your traction control feature will be retained.

Regards,
Dave

but your check engine light will more than likely come on, and your engine/driveline warranty will be void.

Will it be void altogether or will the warranty just not cover things such as backfire damage (impossible) or piston damage etc. caused by backfires?

To me, the Tickford/Vialle gas system is far inferior to the SVI systems that are on the market. Ask the people on Ford Forums e.g. BlownBA. I'm sure they'd agree with me.

Regards,
Dave
