If he were over the Northern side of town i'd help him out, there isn't much in fitting a different convertor, how they can justify charging $200 on top of the profit he is making on the price of convertor has got me f**k.

Just think of Landrovers, it isnt what it is worth, it is what someone will pay.
Maybe the bloke doesnt really want to do the job, you always quote a to high price to get out of a job, if it backfires at least it pays well

just out of interest i had one of the MGA types pictured in the first post

if you try and fit a kit its a prick of a job and almost as expensive as a new unit - almost 100% guaranteed when you try and undo bolts holding diaphram and water jacket covers they will snap off

MGA AUSTRALIA has retail outlet here in SA and last time i enquired about replacement they were about the $200 mark but my LPG dyno tuner/mechanic talked me out of it and recommended the OMVL unit and it was fine on the EA and i got one on the EL ghia 4.0L and alls good 8-)

If anyone with an OMVL is having leaning out problems then let me know.
When i fitted mine it was leaning above 3000 rpm, my mate showed me a trick to it and it solved my problem, i had to screw the power valve in s**t loads straight after it to lean it off.
