hi guys am in need of some help after 4 mechanics and useless service from ezygas
iv got a 95 xg ute with 275,000 on the clock was told by ezygas it has the wrong spark plugs and wrong leads in it causing it to backfire (air box is stuffed and 2 weeks ago took my rocker cover out aswell) and be down on power and misfire these were replace 6 months ago by another mechanic as he said it was the same reason its has 8mm bosch leads that i was told have a high resistence and are causing a weak spark
what are the best leads and plug conbo to use with lpg and what is the best gap would a hotter coil/ignition system be an idea?

The Reason that your rocker cover exploded is that the crankcase vent is on the wrong side of the gas mixer and can and does fill the crankcase with gas, end result "BANG". I would set your plugs at .08 and run NGK ZGR6B 11 [Re Gapped] the leads I use are Gas Technology. Also how good is your dizzy cap and coil. I am in Melb, I am gas fitter, if you want to ring me to know more 0407813725.
Regards Alan TPVM.

cheers on the plugs and leads the cap was replaced 6 months ago as for the coil it could prob do with a new one, what coil would work best with lpg or would any to suit the l6 do?

where should the breather pipe tap in?
would you run it into the air box or will anywhere before the mixer do?

The breather mod is half the issue - that restricts the amount of air drawn from the crankcase. Thats actually from rocker cover *in* to the engine.

The Other breather from factory goes to a port on the throttle body. One you put LPG on the car, you need to relocate this UPSTREAM of the mixer. Ive seen many ways - some tap the air ducting, some go directly to the airbox. If you dont do this, the LPG mix will circulate through your engine from rear breather through crank, to the front.

And that... is your big bang.

I had a conversion from one of the supposed best shops in sydney just 2 years ago and they got this wrong. I wasnt impressed at all.

The mod that you have there is the PCV not fresh air breather. The breather can be anywhere before the mixer ring. And make sure you have a metal PCV. Regards TPVM.
