slight update... still no progress, but have pics of the engine bay with regards to moving the convertor upwards..
it seems possible. will there be any issues with the gas hoses or water hoses? cheers, adam |

You should be able to fiddle/lengthen/re-route the existing hoses yourself,
and if you are lucky you may also be able to release and bend the fixed line to suit as well. But if you can't do the latter you probably should get that professionally done.

My Airod is smaller and simpler than my OMVLR90E. I haven't driven the Airod much but so far it seems fine.
[I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with the idea of chucking the existing mixer though.]

some more questions.
will there be an issue with the hoses being up higher? (i was told something about the water hoses by the gas dealer when i went a while ago) won't changing the converter be more costly and will it retrofit? cheers guys! |

I've only examined a few converters. The ones i have looked at had two hose ports for the coolant hoses, one pipe for LPG input, one vapour hose for LPG output, one electrical wire for the shut-off valve, one had a balancer pipe port, another had a port that i was told lpg would exit from in the case of a backfire (maybe they are both essentially the same function?).
My guess is that having the coolant hoses higher wouldn't be a problem because the negative pressure at one end and positive pressure at the other would see coolant flow without a problem, only if they were metres higher the pressure would not be enough to overcome gravity.

*update*
so i spoke to 2 more gas places yesterday, and both told me its something i can do myself, and would just involve making a custom bracketfor it to sit higher. i also suggested replacing the converter with an OMVL R90E and they both said it would be pointless. one last q. what would be good to use as a heatshield (or should i try utilise the existing one?) thanks! |

i have Geney extractors and my convertor sits much higher than yours does the bracket comes off the strut tower hope that helps if you need pics pm your email address and ill send you some.
