There's labour involved in putting the new injectors into the manifold ... that's the main thing.
Good to see an injected system on an E-series though ... have only seen them on the newer vehicles.

Too bad the 'man' wont let us tinker with lpg more ourselves legally speaking.. oh well maybe for our own good, dont want to fireball my neighbourhood accidently I guess.
I expect these systems will come down in price a bit as time goes on

I have a spare manifold so it shouldnt be a big deal to fit the injectors "off car". I have found a system on Ebay in the UK where they are allowed to play at home... I am seriously considering an import at around $1500. Supply your own tank etc. I have spoken to a couple of gas installers who boohooed the idea as there is no "kit" available. I believe that if enough people are interested (which there are) we can lobby the manufacturers to release a system to suit. It would be very similar to the existing BA model but with interfacing for the earlier ECU and spark mapping etc. Easy to program on a DYNO.

I want I want!!!!!!!!!!
You know once your dad gets yours right then I have 2 more identical cars to do!!!!!!! So once he has it sorted then It would be the same for mine.... and many others on here. Where does he work? I promise not to harrass him LOL. Just to say that It would be worth the while if it can be done. |

The kits in Euro are only designed for small cars with small power figures ... nothing over there is designed for our larger vehicles. Flow rate won't be up to the standard needed for the I6 engine.
Then there's ADR Emmissions testing that needs to be approved as well.

i wouldn't be too sure about that ... the system in my BA is italian made by OMVL ... some injectors are italian, some are Canadian
i have heard the wholesale price of the system is around $1800 ... i'm not too sure about that but the source said it was right ... retail fitted is over 4 grand, almost 4.5 grand i'm sure there's money to be saved .. not sure tho how you'd go about it it's not cheap to get an installers license .. i have a supervised gas fitters ticket, i can change parts already installed - like for like - but i can't legally instal like so many installers have said, if i was licensed to instal and someone wanted me to verify what they'd installed themselves i would have to pull apart everything they'd done to be sure it met my and the authorities standards - that wouldn't be cheap |

cow pat!
the exact same systems are being sold there as here. check this link for an example. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... &rd=1&rd=1 The emissions standards in europe are the highest in the world. Upgrading an existing vaccuum mixer to a multipoint injection system will reduce emissions, improve fuel economy and power output. |

how about order and collect all the parts we need and get the main commissioning done by an accredited installer like "ausdealer" did and get $2000 from Mr Costello to pay for it

Good to see an injected system on an E-series though ... have only seen them on the newer vehicles. I've had gas injection for just over 3 years now, on my EB. They are around, but expensive so most ppl don't fork out the $$$ to get it done. Apparently my car took 10hrs install & tune. It's worth it tho! Cheers ToranaGuy

10 hours would seem fairly reasonable.
When my previous wagon was installed it was in for 3 days so probably 7-8 hours. |
