Looks like a std 200M mixer setup - similar to the EF/EL's.
It depends on the installer, the CDP might be under the dash. I'm still wondering about the petrol start unit, and the safety cutout might be prematurally shutting off the lockoffs. Actually, there's a thought: When it's running on LPG, does it idle smoothly (similar to a petrol idle).

When running on LPG, it idle smoother than using petrol, sometimes it's very very smooth and quite, almost don't know the engine is working. |

Reason I ask about idle is if there's an air leak between the throttle body and the mixer, it will affect LPG and not petrol.
And most likely if there was, the jubilee clips are probably loose.

An impco 200 mixer going to strangle that engine. It should have a 225.
And for that price it's starting to sound like this guy fitted the bare minimum and simplest of gear he could get his hands on. Why he would have fitted a 3 position switch on an EFI car........... You still havn't told us what lambda control system he has fitted, and does the system prime when you turn the key to ON. |

I've only seen BBM engines with the 200M - either the setup in the picture, or the alloy piping across the rocker cover with the mixer at the end. The 225 is usually fitted to the log manifold engines. I don't think Impco have a specific setup for the 225, correct me if I'm wrong.tickford_6 wrote: Why he would have fitted a 3 position switch on an EFI car........... They actually are the switches I've seen come in the kits from Impco - bit silly to have 3 positions though as you say.

I retained the 225 in the XH when I did the BBM conversion. Because of it's straight through design (opposed to the 200's 90 deg) and being larger, space was a bit tight.
It did fit though, above the exhaust - difference was very noticeable compared to my EL's 200M. Different story now though, with the Vapour injection on the EL.

I think the 200 mixer starts to die out about 4000rpm on a EF/EL/AU

A few days ago, i went back gas man twice. Finally they fixed a petrol starter(looks like a small black box, he told me it is petrol starter) in the place besides left foot.
Now situation changes. After sitting a long time, car will be started very quickly. But if you start it again immediately or after a short time, it will be a little bit struggling. Maybe I will go back again. |

Not so - that made perfect sense. Its an LPG start
The Petrol start isnt needed when the car has been running, and so the engine will get rich mixture (LPG and Petrol) for the initial crank. When the Petrol injectors cut out it will start fine. Petrol start can take a bit to get right. Might be worth noting that the EGAS falcons have a sticker saying it can take (I think its) 3 seconds to start. Nigel |
