I have Eb2 falcon with a EL block. It was running fine on both LGP and Petrol until a month ago. I had torn vacuum hose, that came of the intake manifold to the map sensor.

This is around the time the car started to idle like s**t on LGP. It would still run though. I replaces the vacuum hose and since then it stopped idling on gas

Since them I’ve replaced;
oxy sensor
distributor

I’ve tuned my car and now it wont idle on LGP at all.

It will run in LGP once I’m doing enough rev’s. I my car drops below a certain rev’s just conks out when on gas. But its is perfect on petrol.

I’m replacing the coil today.

Anyone else have any idea’s what could be wrong???

Ps I would take this to a garage but every time I mention I have problem with my gas system no one wants to know me. All I need is a dyno spark test and someone that has a clue what they are doing. And no one around me area offers this.

Which gas system do you run???.If its a Tickford then you may have some wax blocking the idle circuit which means no ability to idle what so ever.

After looking for the Gas computer under the dash I found a gas and electronic gas mixture reader. Which has 4 lights: idle , running rich an lean.

That’s when I decided to switch back on gas an keep the rev’s up to see what happens. When I dropped it down to idle it said I was to rich. So with a friend help I altered my mixture screw on the mixer.

Now my car works fine. it idles on gas !!!!
I have no idea where that reader thing came from though.
I’m kind of annoyed because it was a bastard of a job replacing my dizzy.

Sounds like an idle mixture, or a convertor problem.
As stated above, if it's a Vialle or Poliauto it could have wax in it, those convertors are a piece of s**t, when they're running good they're fine, if they play up then piss them off and fit an OMVL to it.
There is also a filter in the lock off, that may need to be cleaned as LPG these days is s**t.

Just to add, LPG doesn't like vacuum leaks, even the smallest will cause it to stall, but it will run fine when you put your foot down, check everything again, make sure the mixer isn't sucking air around the TB.

I had a problem similar to this when my EB backfired severely. It damaged the diaghram in the mixer and caused the same problem - would only run with extreme revs.

If this happened immediately after a backfire, I would suspect this is why your MAP sensor hose blew off/up. Also, it may have introduced a small tear in the converter diaghram, and you are now simply compensating for it by adjusting the mixture (which is the air bypass screw)

I'd be dismantling the mixer and checking it out.
