just after some opinions on this setup. i'm talking vsi for my ba wagon.
everytime parnell gets mentioned on aff it gets met with a fair amount of criticism. to confuse the issue i know of a couple of people running the prins setup and have no issues whatsoever. i recently rung a specialist who will do my car and he recommended the prins setup. if it does have issues, what are some of the issues people have? cheers Rob

When they first started doing VSI system they were having a few troubles but I think they'd all be ironed out by now...they're up there with the best with the conventional systems though

Parnell is a good system if it is put in correctly. Service Dept at Rebel Ford of Elizabeth has nothing but good reports about it as it is installed by a dedicated trained installer who was praised by Parnell themselves.

I am having a Parnell system fitted to my 5Ltr Fairlane next week as the impco system fitted at this time plays up too much , so I will let you know how it goes . Peter . |

The Prins setup work very well if setup properly.
The system uses Keihin injectors and a large regulator which means that the system will flow more than enough gas to ensure the engine does not need to switch over to petrol at high rpm. Make sure your installer selects the 'yellow dot' injectors for your application. Regards, Dave

Peter . id be worried...if they cant get an impco system working properly (and its one of the most basic and foolproof systems out there) Id steer well away from letting them install anything more complex...

Different fitter , this one does a lot of cabs , the original fitter was Rural and fitted the wrong mixer in the first place and was always running lean . |

Well I have just got my V8 back fron having the parnell system fitted , and it was like driving a different car for about 1 Hour and then nothing but backfiring . So stopped the car to see if anything had fallen off , but all looked OK. Started the car on gas to idling speed , but no hope so back to petrol , Got to cruising speed 115 Kph but no hope so back to petrol to get home . Fitter said to bring it back next Monday and will let you know how I go and if no better , I will name him |

The OP is after a Parnell / Prins VSI (injected) system, NOT a mixer-based system.
Regards, Dave

Regards, Dave the OP (me) sold the car in question almost a year ago and bought a bf mk2 egas wagon. given that the longest i've owned any particular car is about 3yrs, and i only do about 10000km/yr, i couldn't justify the conversion cost. these days, if i was to get a car converted, i would probably spend the $80-$90 on a tank of juice and wander over to A&M in melbourne (blownba on AFF).
