what do u guys think is better...running always or off when on LPG..
I dont like the idea of running the pump always as it heats the fuel in the tank and causes a faster rate of evaporation....also not good for when the petrol gets very low...at least it couldnt get completely dry in a petrol only vehicle but could when on lpg

if u run the appropriate amount of petrol every week thats not an issue, and not running for extended time periods can cause pump seal issues

easy you get an kill switch for the fuel pump so when its runnig gas the fuel pump is turned off l done this on tha el fairmont wagon l hadf and its stills works great l have not replace the fuel pump yet
l found it to hook it to the fuel relay by pass the gas/petrol switch so when gas is the pump is off its works or use an inderendent switch to the fuel pump fuse fairlane xr6 |

I toyed with the idea of cutting mine but decided that it was not going to achieve anything in real terms. You still need to fuel rail full to swap between fuels as needed. I have only replaced my pump once in 12 years of LPG and that was a failure caused by the filter disintergrating and letting sediment into the pump.

As per my diagram I sent you, I cut the Fuel Pump when LPG is selected.
I do however, make sure I use petrol a couple of times a week, even if it is just to run up the road to the supermarket etc. BenJ

THe bigger problem isnt the Fuel Pump, but the injector end. Without Fuel behind the injector, the injectors can "cook" and get blocked. Also, the Injector Seals (both ends) can Dry out.
Either Ford Or Holden used to Cycle the fuel pump (you know - on 1 min, off 5) while on LPG. It hasnt been standard practice though, and as long as you have a quarter tank of fuel the pump is always going to run cool. Evap Losses are not that great. I have the pump on 100% of the time. Ive been using the same quarter of a tank for the past 2 months with no problem, and no noticable fuel loss in the tank. Nigel |

The fuel pump on my Mav runs all the time when on LPG. No dramas here.
When I swap to petrol it is instant.
