Hi fellas just wondering if someone can give me a rough indication in terms of what is would cost me to convert my EL fairmont over the injected gas.

The car is currently running a sprintgas gas set up.

Because from what I have read this will give me power from the car (compared to the traditiona gasl set ups) and also better fuel economy.

And can someone let me know where in melbourne I can get it all done? Preferably western suburbs but not that fussed.

These guys did my Territory and it cost $4400

I think you should get it for about $3000 for an underbonnet upgrade.

Thanks for the post Sean. As you said more work required and no time to do it. Just has to be done by the 28TH. T.P.V.M.

Hell all,
I have bought the ebay kit from Ballarat and would like to know if anybody has fitted one to an XH. Tips would be appreciated.

Well, after having a kit sitting here for 6 months, I finally decided to put it in.
Pulled a Vapour Kit off, and result is below.

I think Ive done a reasonable job of keeping it Neat.

Converter is where washer bottle should go. ECU is next to Brake booster (yes, I need to make its bracket tomorrow). Washer bottle will be a BF Unit when I get to it.

Best of all, without a converter off the towers I no longer have trouble replacing spark plugs (EL GT Headers.... awesome except if you have an LPG Converter...)

Best of all - Started the car up (New Injectors, AU Maf housing, EGR Blocked/Electronically bypassed etc) and it started great. A few seconds in the LPG App and its running. Now all I need to do is take care of the hesitation on throttle.

He did do a good job - pretty hard keeping the nozzle hoses short considering the V8 setup.

Theyre 260mm each.

Still need to tune. Have also discovered that D/S O2 sensor is intermittent (!) and that the tach pickup Ive used is not 100% - I'll probably have to pick it up under the dash at the diag connector

Cant actually hear the injectors though - that part was a win.

Which is not bad considering all of them need to be as long as the longest one - IIRC mine on the 6 cyl were 190mm, and of course they're easier considering the 6 cyl inlet branch setup.
So tacho off the TFI lines not good enough ??

I created a second filtered line off the TFI for Tach - on the 5.0 It needed to have a resistor to work with the previous LPG Controller (mixer style).

I figure if I remove that I'll have a better chance, but I have to find where I slipped that resistor in.

IIRC the tacho line to the diagnosis connector has a 1.3kohm resistor in it.
EL's had it, but I think EB/ED's didn't. EF V8's probably have it too being a hall effect/TFI system, not the 6 cyl coilpack system though as SPOUT is created by the ECU..

Snap - from Memory, even the EF had a tach signal at the Diag Conenector - there is one outputted directly by the EEC. Anyway -thats memory (failing)

Yeah, you're right - bad wording on my part. All had a Tacho output on the diag connector - just EL I6/V8 and EF V8 had that inline resistor in that line. I don't think the EF I6's had that resistor as the spout created by the EEC was smoother.
