I think my AEB 295 selflearning feedback system has issues.
I can't drive on petrol (it shakes and lose power)and gas is kind of OK.
Took the car to the mechanic and he said it is AEB 295 that does't work properly.
Anyone know where to fix it or if not posible, where to buy one that works(second hand or new) 8-)

Hi alpha141, did you find a copy of this software? If so, what's it like and are you happy with it?

Hi,

Have been trawling the internet for further info on the Sprint Gas SGA 299 unit for quite some time now, very little out there.

I was able to get my hands on a wiring diagram. This drawing is titled SGA 299 and SGA 295.

I do not know the difference.

I purchased an adapter plug for the AEB170 unit by AEB. Figuring the drawings looked very similar, just maybe the internals were also. I purchased this from http://www.wtvuk.com. It came with software.

However the pinout for the adapter is an 8 pin. My serial interface on the SGA 295 is a 6 pin. So dead end there. I emailed the info address at wtvuk.com. He hadnt seen one like the SGA 295_299.

These seem like rebadged units from AEB, possibly made solely for the Australia market? Any thoughts?

If anyone has a complete manual for the 295_299 I would be interested or any further info.

Cheers
JR

Update.....

I have finally managed to get a complete manual for the SGA 299, I believe it covers _295, _296, _297 and _298.

Havent got the software and cable sorted yet, but that will be next.

after talking to sprintgas, to upgrade from a 295 to a 299 should be as simple and un plug the old plug-in the new and replace the dash mounted switch.

for less then $200

Hi All,

I am also having heaps of trouble with an AEB 295, just wondering if this bit of kit may help
http://www.aeb.it/products/timing-advance-processors or just get a new 299 and does anyone know of a good gas tuner in the Brisbane area?

Thanks for all the other info on the Sprintgas systems.

Hi I am Jason the Ex SA rep for Sprint Gas and owner operator of Ive got gas.
the 295 is the basic self learning computer
and its stable mates
296 integrated gauge
297 traction control
298 gauge and traction
the 295 was replaced with the 299 which was just a update unit that did all of the above
the 295 range was the best thing out there but in the end was only used in Australia. AEB made the 299 for sprint as replacement when they stopped the 295 series (it just Incorporated more wires that you didn't have

anyway enough history the whole series piggy backed on to the ecu and had a base memory tps settings o2 setting petrol change over and overlap, defaults stepper positioning which you normal set before it went to the installer

then when you took it for a drive it would build on that base memory learning your driving style, quickly at first then when it gets to know you it just plods along in a happy marriage

when or if it learns bad habits simply unplug ( pull fuses or disconnect battery) wait 10 15 mins. and it goes back to the base memory

take it for a drive a simulate cruising fast accell decell slow loads ect ,and it should be good as new

if you want to readjust the converter disconect the stepper as the 295 299 will adjust as you are adjusting and will undo what you are doing
I would do this at the same time as the reset because the AEB will adjust itself to compinsate for bad converter settings or blocked converter

the main problem you get is the o2 sensor it should run between 0-1 volt and lambda between aprox 0.2-.7
if you preform the the reset and its the same look at the 02 sensor.
if that's OK. check your connections at the ecu bad solder joints can also cause troble
fitting a 299 want change any thing
the Tartarini T?! is also the 299
hope this helps out

Many thanks Jason,
I have looked at and up to 100 different gas jobs and no 2 are alike, will try out your tips, to see if I can get it to operate better, have done an engine swap recently. It has taken about 3 months of driving to get the petrol side of things running properly, so will work on the Sprint Gas setup again.
I think I need to get a better model computer for the xh ute is known to be a very ordinary ECU.
