Hi all

I have this LPG system out of my EA wagon and would like to find a wiring digram for it if at all possible. I have attached photos of the various bits of wiring to see if it jogs someones memory.

My system consists of the wiring, AEB computer, Sprintgas 70L donut tank and the OMVL R90/E. I would like to install as much as possible, especially the wiring so I can design it in such a way that ist can be easily removed in the future. However, I am missing a wiring diagram for it and am not 100% sure I have all the bits.

If anyone could help, it would be more than appreciated.

Cheers
RD

RD, I rewired mine in my wagon when I converted it to EF/L interior and engine bay loom etc. It is very very easy mate, I'll dig up a diagram for you. If you could, can you see if there is a model number for the black box? I'll see if I can find my wiring diagram for you. Cheers, mark.

Mate, the only diagram that I have is for the AEB195 which runs the stepper motor between the convertor and the mixer. By the looks of that ECU, it appears to be a fairly old unit but there would be someone out there with the info you need. Soryy mate, I cant help you with this one :(

Hi Mark

I suspect we may have the same-ish system then. My little black box doesn't have any numbers on it anywhere, just what you see in the pics. But the line between the converter and the mixer has a black thing in it which I assume is a stepper motor. The 3rd pic above is the plug that plugs into it and attached is a pic of it.

If I could still get a copy of your wiring diagram I could see if the colors etc match up and go from there...

Cheers
Bruce

yeah i meant the 3rd pic...and yes its def a stepper

it wont be hard to wire it up.,....youve basically got a complete loom there so should be easy to wire up...u dont need to reinvent the wheel

only wires u need to run will be from the batt and relays and to the solenoids and full tank

Thanks gogetta

Thats what I am hoping, a simple install not reinventing the wheel. What I do want to do is make the ECU connections pluggable so I can remove it later. When I pulled this from the EA I actually cut the main car wiring off so I had the connections to the ECU intact. That way I could at least tell which LPG wires attached to what ECU wires.

The tank had one blue wire running from it to up front, the stepper motor wires went through the firewall and there was a couple more wires attaching to the converter. I should really have taken photos of how it was all connected up before pulling it out but totally forgot.

One question. Can these system be made to utilise the car fuel gauge when running in LPG mode instead of having a seperate LPG gauge? I know BenJ is doing that with his Impco system and I would like to do it to mine if at all possible.

Cheers
Bruce

Hmmm, that looks radically different to mine. By the looks of your diag you have 1 wire to the ECU, yea? On mine I have 10 wires into the ECU not counting piggybacking onto the earth. 2 of the wires have been split to run through the LPG computer before returning to the car wiring.

What I might do is see if the guys that installed the system can tell me what model the computer is. I might even try to get a wiring diagram off them but I don't like my chances on that one....

I had a quick look at the tank and am confused at what I see. I'll take a pic of the contents of the little gray box on the side of the tank tomorrow and post it. Maybe someone can tell me what part is the sender etc.... There is a sticker on the inside of the box car saying something about a fuel shutoff so I'll post a pic of that too....

The injectors/fuel pump, TPS and O2 sensor wires are all joined to wires near the ECU.

What you need to do and find out what Ford computer you have and then see which colour wire goes to which Ford ECU pinout. Refer to a EECIV 68?? pinout chart so that you then know what LPG wire does what?

Thats what I am thinking. The system came out of a 3.9 CFI so I will get the wiring for one and work out what wire go where. Then it will be simply figuring out where the remaining wires go and I should be OK.... I think :)
