sorry if this has been asked to many times.... currently I dont have gas.
I am looking into pulling out the fuel tank, injectors etc and going striaght gas. what system would you guys recommend for a EL ghia 4L looking at flowing enough for about 180-190 rwkw. Price is not an issue...Also what happens with the ecu side of things??? do you need a switch chip etc to tune the gas??? sorry dont know much about gas hence so many questions! thanks heaps! |

The problem is you not going to get 180-190kw's on petrol if your thinking of bbq fuel.

you'll need to go forced induction to get that kinda power, but a gas research B2 and throttle body will be enough. if you want to get serious use two b2's and a big gas research throttle body tho they take longer to tune than say an impco mixer so impco is cheaper.
if money isnt a problem then i'd go a gas research system or gas injection. im running a standard ecu with my lpg falcon and just unplugged all the injectors, no issues.

I'm running GRA S400 throttle body and twin B2's on my Turbo EF.
Its been prettty trouble free so i'd recommend it. alternatively, i'd look at injection for something a little different.

issues no...
backfiring.. heaps my cars backfired a lot of times, no ill effects by it though. worst case is its blown a vac line off (usually map sensor) but... in all cases the backfiring has been a spark issue. old plugs, weak leads, plugs needing regapping.

backfires is often caused by the PCV valve air going to the wrong place.
Id go with GRA, or Impco. Theyre just the better systems on these cars. GRA does have some issues with altitude change. It is just a big LPG Carby. But it is big. Cheers Nigel |

flowing enough for about 180-190 rwkw. Price is not an issue...\ if price is of no concern there is only one option........ liquid lpg injection. but dont get confused with 'vapour lpg injection'. |

To be honest - Vapour LPG Injection done right is incredible.
I had a system in a car for 7 years and it was far, far better than petrol. Nigel |

ED Falcon 4.0L with Impco system. How do I tune it. In the past I paid a mechanic to connect a hand held 'Impco' analyser with from memory just flashing coloured lights, which all he did was adjust the spring screw under the mixer.
Where/how much can I get this.? Do I need it? How do I tune it without this? About a week ago, it was reasonably warm weather, and engine started to run very rough, wouldn't idle. I have changed plugs, leads, rotor, button. I have now got it to idle but still rough. The spring mixture screw under the mixer is screwed out about 1cm. I have in the past been able to get it to idle without even shaking, the car has been on gas since 2000, I generally get by without the mechanic, this time I am struggling. please help. Mark |

sounds like a clogged converter
mine was like this with the BRC converter. I ditched it and fitted an OMVL which runs like a dream, great idle and more power. ecomomy is still pretty reasonable but not perfect.
