from my understanding, the TPS has to remain for the auto. now the tranny ECU has a few wires runnin to it from the normal ECU. someone HAS mentioned maybe using a "MegaSquirt" (i love that name) anyway, using a megasquirt for the tranny ECU, you should be able to remove everything from injectors to feul tank and everything in between.
i'm looking to do the same thing but this is the only info i got.
correct me if i'm wrong guys or if anyone has any further information, that's be kool.

I'm looking at buying a DC LTD 5.0L with duel fuel. When I took it for a drive it would'nt let me use the gears, it was like it was in drive for 1-2-3 & D.
So is on straight gas/duel fuel setup that the auto wont work with gear selection?
And can it ever be fixed so gears can be used again?
Until I saw this post I thought the box might have been screwed & was thinking of swapping the box out my current 5.0L for it.

i did some searches but gave up as i couldnt find anything relevant.looked at your link the tps is only part of what is required i cant remember the others but i believe about three wires return to the engine ecu, one of which is the speedo sender the other 2 unknown?

i have wired a standard ecu and trans control into a xg recently but didnt really have to test to much lots of the wiring was just left in tact. if i could work out what signals are required then you could use trans control ecu with aftermarket ecu. that is what i am aiming for then you can have full spark control trans control and run straight lpg and remove all fuel related gear.

i am interested to see how your project goes may do somthing similar soon

There are 2 TPS, one for engine and the other for the transmission controller. From memory, there is only one wire that goes from the TCM to the engine's ECU. Most of wires for the auto are for each solenoid, the inhibitor switch and temp sensor. The only thing required for a straight gas set up is the auto's TPS.

the 4 sp will run with straight gas / carbied windsor / cleveland conversions.

The TCM requires inputs from the gear position switch, TPS and RPM, providing these are all connected, it will work.

Alternatively we're working on a stand alone controller for the BTR 4sp which will initially will provide a full manual setup, further revisions will have fully programmable automatic control.

Riddo

I've just purchased a NC Fairlane for its gearbox and 5L. I have an XP which I am going to run it in. I am on striaght LPG now and will be running the Windsor on straight LPG. I was going to stick with the EFI set up but my LPG mechanic and other mechanic friends have said that a carby set up would be better. So I have stripped the EFI gear and am now looking at replacing all that with a carby set up.

I will be happy to keep you up to date with my progress and any info I find in relation to the gearbox problems. Sorry I'm a late comer to your original thread but if you've all ready started let me know how your going.

I now need to find a good manifold / carby set up for the gas.
