Hey guys,

Sitting round the fire talking with a few mates after a couple of stubbies, an idea came up and i thought i'd share it to see what you all think...

I own a NC fairlane 5.0 on dual feul. It currently runs a impco 225 straight-through mixer and a L model converter. A mate of mine suggested removing the whole petrol, upper and lower manifold setup, replace it with either a performer or torker manifold and slap on my impco 425 which has a holley baseplate for a straight gas setup.

Any opinions on this idea? pros? cons?

hmm that intake looks familiar, I see you didn't need the adaptor.

How long before we see it on the road doing some testing.

I just purchased a Parker 302 Funnelweb Intake manifold from the US... Cant wait!!!

Now apart from going the GRA route... do you think the Impco 425 will be sufficient?

I want to try and NOT crack open the motor to get HP. Which leaves me to roller rockers, exhaust and intake.

What else would I need to do to make it run?

For the petrol side of things? Do I just go and remove the injector harness, petrol tank and hide the looms?

i was thinking about doing the same, was going to use a megasquirt. the trans computer has two imput coming from the computer and i am not sure if these can be simulated with a megasquirt.if the ms can be used to control trans computer and timing everything on the fuel side can be removed.

just curious what happens apart fromthe obvious if you run out of fuel.is a tow the only option. can you buy some form of portable bottle like a fork lift that can be used when needed?

No, by removing the fuel tank from under the car, I'm thinking bout fitting another gas tank under the car... of course if possible.

When I had my gas certified (gas only setup) they had to put some gas in an empty tank - they had a bbq bottle with an adapter on it which they filled up at the servo, probly totally illegal, but hey? They put a few $$ worth in the car so they could drive it round to the servo to fill up.

I saw the bottle, it really was as simple a setup as it sounds.....

Yep it is illegal, there is actual legal bottles to do this but that would probably incur a yearly bottle rental fee, BBQ bottle is cheap

How much did you pick it up for?
They have them in packages all the time in Ebay.au but there is a few going for $475 plus $30 postage.
