I totally agree. I would have even been happy to work through a solution with Frank. But to just close up shop and run is not good customer service which leads me to beleive VicRoads and AAFRB and correct in what they are saying.
There are hundreds of business registered on the AAFRB and have been around for years! I dont hear none of them complaning |

Thanks for that mate. I spoke to sprintgas also they said they dont do a kit for the el and advised against as it reduces the life of the ecu! The sales guy wasnt making much sense.

There might not be anyone doing a total "bolt in" vapor kit for a EL these days, but if there is still "bolt in" vapor kits for AU's, that kit would work hardware wise, as for wiring, there might be a couple of minor changes as to what wire color they need to cut in the loom, but if the installer is worth a pinch of s**t they would be able to work it out & install it! In relation to liquid kits, Is there one for an AU? If so, it can more than likely be used in an EL. Cheers ToranaGuy

Just the wiring etc. Just need to find a installer who is willing to do it for you! |

Just the wiring etc. Just need to find a installer who is willing to do it for you! That's the trouble, finding installers willing to do injection, either vapor or liquid, on the older car's. Difference from EF to BA will be to do with wiring (no cheat sheets for the installers) and the tank will be different due to different floorpan. I have vapor injection on my Eb Ghia 4.0. Had it on since 2004! Yes, next year the tank needs to be retested, I've had injected gas for almost a decade! Cheers ToranaGuy

Hi Boosted VT.
I too received a letter from VicRoads last week. I had my BA Fairmont Converted to vapour gas in October 2011 by LPGAS CONVERSIONS MELBOURNE. 1/12 LASER DRIVE ROWVILLE 3178 I was thinking of calling vicroads in the morning asking why has it taken almost 2yrs to write this letter if they knew the business is not registered with the AAFRB. Honestly they should have picked this up straight away when I gave them the form that my car was converted to LPG. As for LPGAS CONVERSIONS MELBOURNE, I have emailed them once but have had no reply. I really hate to be spending more $$ just to rectify this. I was going to call into the shop and show them the letter as i live close to Rowville but as I read they have closed the business. Any suggestions please? |
