Hi there,

i'm shopping around for an LPG Installer in Sydney.

Can someone please tell me whether Single-Point & Multi-point is the same as Single fuel or Duel Fuel?

If anyone can recommend a good installer around Sydney, & some pointers I should lookout for, & some questions I should ask the installers - please feel free to comment.

So far from what ive read in forums is that Impco & ICE Leads are good.

Want to get in b4 the $2000 rebate dries up! If it hasn't already.

Single point and multi-point is not the same as single or dual fuel.
Single point is 99% of the conversions, whether it be ring ot TB type, multi is more direct injection and costs twice the amount.

real multi point gas injection is the way to go if you can afford it.

how much is single & multipoint?

Is it worth it for a '94 EF Falcon?

Single can be from $1800 to $3250, depends on the system you choose and what you want from LPG.
Multi - is $4000 plus.

I went for an expencive single (GRA system) and only lost 2rwkw from petrol!

Just butting in, lol. Regarding the multi point gas injection how close should I expect my EF 4 litre to perform compared to petrol, performance and economy wise?

Not well unless you run an aftermarket petrol ECU (e.g. Profire). This is because the EA-EL Falcon engines don't feature sequential injection required by multipoint SVI systems.

For an EF, single-point LPG is definitely the way to go, and get IMPCO equipment.

thanks for the help mate, I don't like the idea of single point because it's so in-efficient. Might be worth getting a newr car and throw it on a quality lpg setup.

The main issue with single-point LPG (or CNG, or any gaseous fuel for that matter) is the risk of damaging backfires that will blow your intake system apart. You're right in saying that they're inefficient though - they average around 10% higher consumption over multipoint sequential systems.

Mmmm, I could keep the old EF and run multipoint injection, but it will need aftermarket ECU with a tune to suit, would be expensive? thanks.

Most if not all sequential injection systems have their own ecu, they just take a injector signal and other info to utilize tdc etc.

The system I have is universal and can be programmed to suit any application from a 3cyl to a 8cyl.

There's the problem. SVI systems require an existing petrol ECU that supports sequential injection. The ECUs on EA-EL engines do NOT support sequential injection and therefore are unsuitable.
