I was just wondering how cars are tuned for gas ,how do you know if its running rich or lean. I have an EF dual fuel which gets 330km city driving usable 60 litre tank just wanted know if I should be getting more.

Depends on the setup. What are you running? Impco, OMVL, etc. I can show you a quick tune up for OMVL that works a treat.
Impco's are know to go out of tune pretty quickly. OMVL's are normally pretty god and don't need much if any fiddling with once set. If you are getting around 16l city and 10 highway then I would be happy with that. cheers Scott

Speak to Joe at Crescent in Liverpool ... he fits a lot of Airod systems.

i get 15-16ish L to the 100k, city driving in heavy (perth) traffic and I consider myself to have a pretty heavy foot.

i get 11-12l per hundred, and 16l /100km towing, i have given it 2 deg extra static advance and i dont bother with the petrol now, you can give it more timing as long as you use a 98 ron fuel
thats and eaII with a dodgy old impco.

Ive got a OMVL setup on my car, ive had it on the dyno for it to be tuned, didnt need any tuning, the gas that is, it is at its optimum setting. Im getting 400 to and tank used to get around 460 but i have a heavier foot now.
When it was on the dyno, we did a few runs on gas and petrol, and it is only down 1 KW on gas compared to BP ultimate 98, so im pretty happy with that. But i think petrol still has that little bit more noticeable pull quicker to rev kinda thing. This is all on a stock motor apart from catback at moment. Im chucking extractors, and cold air setup on soon, and hopefully a cam. At the moment the mixer is butted right up against the throttle body, when change all my intalke piping over, if i move the mixer further down the intake piping, to try and get some more flow going will this be a benefit? ive heard it will help but im nt sure. So can i advance the timing? how far can i, and what should i expect from it? Il prob repalce leads and plugs before i go playing around with timing

So can i advance the timing? how far can i, and what should i expect from it? Il prob repalce leads and plugs before i go playing around with timing moving the mixer away from the T/B is a good idea as it gives the LPG and air longer to mix. can advance timing 5 degrees or so depends, alot of this is done by ear and a few runs down the street to access any performance increase. remember tho ULP will ping if to far advanced

Dizzy Timing for LPG for dummys
step 1. loosen 13mm bolt, so can just move dizzy step 2. turn dizzy in clockwise direction a little at a time.... step 3. take for thrash down the street...better step 4. no ping see step 2 ping see step 5 step 5. turn dizzy back counter clockwise.... step 6. tighten 13mm bolt step 7. run on ULP to check
