My son just purchased the car (no warranty) and when you switch to gas the solonoid in the gas line and the one on the converter itself both react to the switching but it dies straight away and wont run on gas. There is also a solonoid type device on the tank itself which doesnt react but im not sure if thats a solonoid for dumping gas in a prang but from memory from my old clevo My tank solonoid used to click in and out too. are they all the same should this one be reacting to the switching. Guage says there is plenty of gas in the tank.
Any ideas appreciated. |

Hi
A bit more info please type of system brand etc. But at a guess i would say convertor is stuffed. Usually costa about $300 to replace. If you are handy rip convertor apart check seals etc. Good luck |

Thanks anyway but I got him to bring it round this arvo and I went over everything with the multimeter and all was OK.
Remembering how my gas guage was notoriously inaccurate I tapped the tank and said this sounds empty. (the guage showed just under full) Told him to put $20 in the tank and he just rang me back said its purring like a kitten on gas. Thanx mate |
