Had another non compliant LPG system through work today and this one is BAD.
Original install was done in ACT in 2008. It has an Autronic vapor injection system, which use compression fittings, BIG NO NO. It's also a very ugly under bonnet install. The installer used an incorrect doughnut tank under a falcon wagon, There was no way I could reach the service valve with out removing the tank from the car, the tank also had no stone guard and is damaged from being scrapped on the ground going up driveways etc. The filler hose passes through a steel panel with no protection from abrasion. When the LPG inspector looked over it he couldn't stop shaking his head in disbelief. The end result is the inspector has taken all the details and photos of all the non compliance and will follow it up. A defect notice has been issued and the only way to 'fix it' is to completely remove the system and start again. The owner is chasing up the original installer in an effort to get him to pay for the removal of the system. |

Disgusting. And people wonder why LPG-fuelled cars have such a bad reputation in this country.
