Anyone seen in Wheel's mag lately? they're billing a 5L charged falcon, 375kw 670?nm and the words 'GT-HO' were thrown around a lot

just picked up the wheels mag again. lots of 'phase 5' thrown around too.

see it would be phase 6 as the Homogobal options (or what ever it is) made a XD phase 5.

Old News.... and FYI these cars are just a glorified XR8. I have seen these in person. no GS badges just sticker decal crap. interior looks stock standard xr8, nothing special...

Original xw-xb gs was also a sticker job with no badges either iirc. Only interior diference was a different instrument cluster.

Didn't the XB GS's get the twin headlights and the bonnet flutes or was that just the XC.?

yes that is correct frankthe xb's did dad owned one :)

you will find I think the first series of XC were pretty much XB's with a few adjustments and I think the second seires of XC had square lights

apparently they will be using an engine from the "COYOTE" engine family fitted to overseas fords. the overseas versions are supercharged and far exceed the currant XR8 power and torque and also s**t on the chevs 6.2L. its an all alloy engine with twin cam heads (quad cam) pulling some impressive numbers. not sure if we'll see the charged model engine but would love it if they did.

Are you sure? because I've owned about a dozen XB's and XC's.. and as far as I knew, fairmont GXL was the only one with square headlights. This is from an add for an XC GXL fairmont.

Here is an XB GS:

front bumper is different, as is grill and dash and rear lights.. most else is the same.

Here is an XC GS:

Lastly, ignoring the fact that its a van.... this is what the standard falcon front looked like for an XC.

not anymore...

I was under that assumption that the square headlights were on the late XC.

Nope, I have a 78 XC sundowner in my shed here and it's twin rounds with the GS bonnet flutes.

All models released after Phase IV XA GT-HO were actually dealer specials cashing in on the name, not genuine factory releases and definitely not GT-HO material.

I hope FPV have the good sense to make the new top-shelf GT variant unbeatable on the road, and I hope they also decline to call it GT-HO unless the public are satisfied that it's worthy.

If they end up using the new mustang engine (coyote) theres no doubt it will fly (N/A or S/C)

apparently their making the change cos the BOSS engine doesnt meet new euro 4 emission standards. also the coyote engine is very different from anything else ford so i doubt anyone will be swapping parts over from older XR8's etc, might be awhile it someone makes some go fast(er) bits

As long as Ford AU / FPV don't change things too much, the American after market will have us sorted (like the GM LS owners enjoy)
