Hi Everyone,

As you may have already seen or heard, a new partnership between Triple Eight Race Engineering and Holden was announced this morning.

It represents a new era for the team, and will see Jamie and I racing Holden Commodores in the V8 Supercar Championship Series from 2010.

The news comes after last week’s announcement that Vodafone, Jamie and I had all re-signed with Triple Eight until at least the end of 2012.

Remaining with Triple Eight was my main priority for 2010. They’re the best team in the business and there’s no-one else I’d rather be racing for.

But the team has made a decision to change brands, which, unfortunately, means this will be the final year of my relationship with Ford, which dates back to 2001.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Ford driver and ambassador.

On the track, we’ve achieved a lot of success together, with three-straight Bathurst wins and countless race and round victories. A championship has eluded us thus far, but we’ve been right in the thick of it in recent years and there is still a lot of racing to go in 2009.

Away from the track, I’ve met and worked with a lot of great people from Ford and have been proud to represent the brand for nine years.

I’ve also been fortunate enough to meet and receive fantastic support from so many passionate Ford fans, including many Lowndes Force members.

Starting this weekend with the Norton 360 Challenge at Sandown, I’ll be looking to conclude the Ford chapter of my career on a strong note.

We want a fourth-consecutive Bathurst win and I plan to fight for the championship until the end.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your ongoing support, and I hope to see you at the track soon.

Craig Lowndes

Maybe Ford will realise now what an asset Jamie and Craig were to the brand.
Its a shame we lost our 2 best drivers but on the other hand Ford don't deserve to have 888 staying loyal to them either as Ford turned their back on them.
Although Craig and Jamie will be racing Holden next year although im not happy about it, they will still both have my respect. :(

Well if they can't get the support they need from Ford and Holden can, I don't blame them. I guess this is a wake up call to Ford on the repercussions of their actions, a lesson learnt for next time I suppose.

Either 888 and Roland Dane are a hard bunch to get along, with which i highly doubt or Ford just need a good foot up the a*** for letting them go!
Could be waiting a while now before we see another ford team as successful and who have such an influence as what Lowndes and Whincup are today.

sad but true, if they didn't pull the funding from them,,

But shows history repeats itself, wonder how long until they pull the pin completely ala 87

Ford never cease to amaze me with their ability to C**k every good thing up.

Fire the f**k acountants! they ruin everything. Sure times are tough money wise, but they still dont realise how important factory sponsored racing is in this country in relation to the sports market segment. If your not selling cars, your not making money! Throwing away your most successful race team in the last half a decade just does not compute.

Its really starting to disturb me how thick the kuunts are that build the cars I like to drive. After my uni degree is over and a decent wage is coming in, Im buying an audi. f**k ford. A g6eT was slated but Id rather spend extra on an S5.

And then laugh when ford australia have to survive off government grants and global contracts rather than actual car sales to survive.

This just highlights the culture of stupidity in the Ford boardroom.

G'day Ford, do you remember this line from the past
'Win on Sunday, sell on Monday'
Would of thought it was even more important in today's tough times.
But what would the paying public know, we're not the bean counters at Ford HQ.
